The Kitchen
Cups, Cups and More Cups
I went in the kitchen yesterday to put a decorative cup up from my husband's desk as we were preparing to show our house. When I opened the cupboard it was full of cups- you know all those with the unit or place or product all over it. I know I sometimes have these for Set Free Life Coaching, but at least I put chocolate in them.
I started to get upset at my husband, but then I remembered the antiques tea cups I have in the next cupboard and the extra blue ceramic mugs on the other side of the stove. These are all in addition to the regular mugs we use everyday of which I have about 16.
So what to do? My rule is if you haven't used it in the last 6 months you don't need it unless you are moving with the military and you used it at the last location. Give the military families a break.
This is what I'm going to do:
1. Plan to have another tea party at my new place in Harker Heights, TX. I did this in Hawaii 2 years ago and loved it. I took the idea from my friend Joy at Carlilse Barracks who invited new women over each month to get to know them and help them get to know each other.
2. Save the blue ceramic mugs at least for another year. I love to serve hot apple cider and hot chocolate in the winter and may have 20 or more people in the house. If I haven't used them in a year then it is time to take them to the Thrift shop
3. Ask hubby about his collection. Is there any of them that he is ready to part with? If not and there is not cabinet space in the new house he maybe ready to get rid of more of them then.
Happy Moving!
