Make A Positive Difference

Decide to make a positive difference this year, right where you live. You can have a significant impact in your community, in your church, chapel or on your military installation.

Where ever you call home, I believe God has placed you there to serve Him. God did not make a mistake. You are exactly where He planned for you to be. Once you accept that fact then you can begin to change things. Make a positive difference in your corner of the world.

Start with the women in your church and neighborhood.

* Get to know the women in your local women’s Bible Study and look for a new friend. Invite her out to lunch, meet at the play ground to talk while the kids play or have her over for a cup of coffee.
* Learn the names of the women who lead women’s ministry. Say “Hi!” when you see them. Pray for them to hear and follow God’s leading.
* Find out what is happening and volunteer to help. Find a small part you can do with joy. When everybody pitches in the work seems easier and you will feel more like part of the group.
* Tell your friends and neighbors about this wonderful group of ladies. Tell any negatives to God and let Him work on them. Be a voice of praise and appreciation.
* Invite others to join you as you study God’s Word and fellowship together. Your positive attitude is contagious. Smile.

God has a plan for every lady you meet. He has a plan for you. Ask Him about His plans and start making a positive difference right where you live.

What is a Tele-Seminar?

Tele-seminars are small teaching and discussion groups that are held via tele-conference. Each participant calls into a conference call number entering the pass code.  As the host I start us off with prayer and then talk about the topic. At times I ask you various questions seeking your opinion and information about what you do in your life.
The participants receive an email prior to each seminar containing the next Action Guide. These guides are for your use and maybe saved or printed if you choose. Each guide contains Action Steps to help you apply and practice the lesson in your life following the tele-seminar.
Because these seminars are for a group, I can offer them at a greatly reduced price making them available to more women. Sign up is available on my website to easily reserve your slot for the next seminar.
Each tele-seminar will be offered two times this year, so you can find one that fits your schedule.
Time Enough Priorities
Seminar 1starts February 13- two Mondays each month through May at 1 PM Central
Seminar 2starts September 10-two Mondays each month through December at 10 AM Central

Fashion Freedom and Faith
Seminar 1 starts June 2-four Mondays in June at 10 AM Central
Seminar 2 starts August 6-four Mondays in August at 1 PM Central

Here’s what ladies are saying about these seminars:
Time Enough Priorities:
Learning what my priorities were and how they should be to have a more balanced and pleasant life was also extremely beneficial for me...because it has saved my marriage!  Lori
The part that spoke to me most was the stress indicators and understanding prioritizing in categories. I enjoyed most the part about finding the balance and the calendar. What spoke to me most was listing what you should do vs. what you do.
Fashion Freedom and Faith:
It was fun. I am going to start tackling my closet this afternoon and I finally feel like I have "permission" to get rid of stuff that doesn't work for me! I feel freer already! Nancy
Joyce helped me to reorganize my wardrobe, make some hard decisions about some bad choices (get rid of them) and embrace who I am...uniquely created by a loving God. I have a great basic wardrobe and a shopping list ready to go so that I can fill in the "blank" spots. What I expected to be a rather painful process turned out to be a whole lot of fun. Suzi

S.M.A.R.T. Start 2012

Each year I pray and ask the Lord what He would like to change in my life. Last year He asked me to learn to not complain. This year God took it a step further and asked me to change my focus from a negative one and to learn to see the bright side.
I wasn’t even sure it could be done. For all of my life I have looked for the “reality.” Unfortunately, my reality was not finding the adventure, excitement or joy in the  privilege of serving, but rather seeing the hassles, problems and obstacles in the path.
This is a goal I expect to be working all year as these habits are ingrained in my thoughts and being. Let me give you a little of my progress so far and show you how to accomplish your goals.
When we feel God’s leading to change our behavior to more closely reflect His image, we need to get smart. S.M.A.R.T. is an acronym which helps us reach our goals.

S–Specific: Get specific on what new behavior you want in your life
See the positive side and not focus on the negative side of life and my situation.
M- Moderate: Tackle one project at a time. Start small and build on your successes.
Tackle this one thought at a time, one day at a time, one feeling at a time.
A–Achievable: Baby steps. Figure out what you will do instead of what you won’t do.
When I catch myself thinking “I can’t do it all” choose to say “Thank you God for calling me to serve. Show me how to do this work Your way.” Or “This is really fun!”  Or my favorite right now, “What an adventure!”
R–Recordable: Document your progress. Celebrate your progress with a friend or family.
My husband immediately saw my progress and I have been able to do more with less stress.
T–Time-Specific: Review your goals weekly or daily.

Each night I review my progress with God, talking over my successes and where I started thinking negative again. Often I can’t even remember the negatives by bedtime.
I am changing my focus and seeing life as an exciting adventure with God. With God’s help I am learning to see the bright side of each situation in my life.
When troubles come your way consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow… James 1:2-4.
What is God asking you to work on this year? Are you willing to trust Him to help you? Take the S.M.A.R.T. approach to an improved you.
